World Book began in P5 with children showing some of their favourite books. This opened a great conversation about characters and why we each love different books for different reasons. We then joined a Just2easy live lesson where we created our very own ebook on our favourite characters. A big thank you to our digital leaders and Casey, Dale and Philip from P7 who helped us.
We spent some time in the afternoon getting comfortable and reading in our book nook. Our favourite place in the classroom.
‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was our Roald Dahl book of choice, and we had great fun looking at characters. We drew pictures of Augustus Gloop and even created our own characters such as Ezra HoneyBee, Albert Chump and Margaret Squareeyes to name a few. We used this as stimuli to build our characters identity Using descriptive words and phrase, we even tried to be like Roald Dahl and use similes to help build our characters personality.
