π World Book Day in Primary 4 π
For World Book Day Primary 4 explored the story of βJames and the Giant Peachβ by Roald Dahl. Our class took part in lots of creative activities. As the peach grows so big in the story, we decided to do some of our own growing by planting some cress seeds with help from Mrs Matthews. We will keep watering our seeds and see how big they grow πͺ΄.
In the story, the peach kept rolling until it reached America! We then decided to do a forces experiment to test if the weight and size of objects affects the speed at which objects roll down a hill. We discovered that round, solid objects tend to move faster. This linked in well with our space topic where we have been learning about speed and gravity.
Later in the afternoon we painted some rocks with minibeast designs to represent all the different minibeast characters in βJames and the Giant Peachβ ππͺ±ππ. We drew some lovely book covers also.
One of our favourite parts of the day was reading with Mrs Sayers and Miss Murphyβs classes π.
