Dig For Victory 🥕🥬
12th Apr 2022
As part of our WW2 topic P4 have been learning about the rationing of food and how people were encouraged to grow their own fruit and vegetable plants to have more food to eat. 🥦🍅🍓
Today P4 created and planted a “Dig For Victory” vegetable garden in our school. We planted lettuces, kale, cabbage, peas, broad beans, spinach and potatoes. Everyone enjoyed digging and planting and really got to experience how families during WW2 would have set up their own vegetable patches to supplement the food from their ration books.
Thank you Barney, Mrs Sloan and Mrs Rogers for helping us with our planting 😊
