New life in Primary 1
Last week Barney noticed that within the plants in the primary one play area, a bird had built a nest for her little eggs. They were snug in the corner of a tyre where our daffodils once were. All the children were so excited but were very careful not to be too noisy and scare them away!
Just this afternoon, Barney arrived with the good news to Miss McCoy that the eggs had hatched and the little hatchlings were born to the world.
They are born with no feathers and they are blind. Their parents have to keep them warm and feed them every fifteen minutes to help them grow big and strong enough to fly!
There will be lots of excited boys and girls in the morning when they see our new arrivals!
