P1/2 - Our Walk to the Beach! ☀️🌳
On Friday, the P1/2 class put on their coats and boots for an exciting Forest School adventure to the beach!
The walk wasn’t just a lovely walk in the fresh air to some sea breeze — it was a brilliant opportunity to learn all about road safety in real life 🚗
Before setting off, the children talked about how to stay safe when walking near roads.
They practised staying away from the edge of the footpath, stopping at kerbs, looking both ways, and listening carefully before crossing with their adults. Everyone showed great awareness and followed the rules sensibly on the journey.
They practised ‘Stop, Look & Listen!’
When they arrived at the beach, the fun really began!
Oh course they went straight to the water to feel its temperature and to have a little splash! 💦
The children searched for special rocks to bring back to school.
Each child chose a unique rock to keep, and they’re looking forward to painting them during next week’s art lesson.
There was plenty of excitement as the children compared shapes, colours, and textures, with lots of discussion about what their painted rocks might become — from ladybirds to dragons!
The trip was a perfect mix of outdoor learning, safety awareness, and creative inspiration.
We can’t wait to see the finished rock designs brightening up our classroom soon!
