P4’s WW2 Garden 🥕🥦
P4 took a step back in time to the life of people during WW2 this week.
During WW2 the government encouraged people to plant and grow their own vegetables so they would have more food to eat alongside their rations🥕🥦 This was known as the “Dig For Victory” campaign. 👩🌾
P4 measured the perimeter of our vegetable patch which was approximately 6m. 📏 Then, with the help of Barney our caretaker, we split and measured our vegetable patch into six equal sections.
Then it was time to plant our lettuce, cabbage, broad beans, snap peas, carrots and rhubarb 🥕🥬 We were very careful to leave 30 cm in between our vegetable plants so that they have room to grow!
