Paper Making in P6
Local artist Kevin Mc Carry came to visit P6 to show them the technique of making paper. We started with a pulpy mixture which was then put into a mould. We could add flowers, leaves, glitter or whatever objects we liked, as long as they were flat.
When we had a few sheets made, Kevin put them together between two boards which he then placed in a bag. He then stood on the bag to squeeze the water out. We were very surprised as to just how much came out!
The next step was to dry the paper. Kevin put the wet paper on a window and very carefully peeled off the cloth it was held in. The paper stuck to the window. We have to wait 24 hours until it dries then we will have our own handmade paper!
