Primary 1 - Floating/Sinking
21st Jan 2025
In Primary 1, we recently completed a fun and practical science experiment as part of our topic ‘Toys’. The children explored the concept of floating and sinking by testing a variety of toys in water. We experimented with toys of different sizes, shapes, and materials, feeling each one to understand why some float while others sink. Through this activity, the boys and girls discovered that toys that are light and hollow, like rubber balls or plastic figures, tend to float, while heavier or solid toys sink. After testing each toy, the children sorted them into two categories—floating and sinking. It was a fantastic learning experience, filled with excitement and curiosity and we all had a great time!
