As part of our topic 'Castle Life' we have been talking about food in medieval times. We know that long ago people had to hunt and grow their own food. They ate lots of vegetables and herbs and they hunted for wild pig, deer and rabbits.
With help from Barney and Mrs Matthews we planted some seeds in pots and patiently watched them grow. When they were big enough we planted them in our vegetable patch. Hopefully we will have lots of lovely lettuce, beetroot, peas and broad beans for our summer salads!
