Young Explorers Discover Polar Lands in Forest School Session π»ββοΈ
This week, our budding adventurers had an unforgettable Forest School session as they dived into the icy world of polar lands! Linking beautifully to our World Around Us topic, the children explored our school grounds with a new purpose: uncovering hidden polar bear footprints and learning about Arctic animals.
The session began with an exciting scavenger hunt. Armed with keen eyes and boundless enthusiasm, the children searched for secret polar bear footprints. Each discovery sparked discussions about polar bears, their habitats, and how they adapt to the freezing Arctic environment.
The fun didnβt stop there. Using animal footprint cards, the children matched tracks of other Arctic creatures, including Arctic wolf, Arctic hare and reindeer. This hands-on activity gave them a deeper understanding of how these animals thrive in polar conditions, as well as sparking conversations about how footprints can tell stories about wildlife.
To end the session creatively, the children used sticks as paintbrushes to create furry polar bear faces. With natural materials and lots of imagination, they painted white bear faces, bringing their forest Arctic adventure to life.
Our Forest School sessions continue to be a wonderful way for children to connect learning with nature, fostering curiosity and creativity while exploring exciting topics like polar lands.
πΎπΎ Well done to all our young explorers! πΎπΎ
