P3 have been enjoying reading “The Worst Witch” as our class novel. Today we decided to take our learning outside to build a new broomstick for Mildred Hubble who is having quite a lot of problems when it comes to her flying lessons.
Things P3 considered when building a broomstick:
🧙The broomstick needs to be around the same height as the witch or wizard who will be riding it.
🧙The handle of the broom stick needs to be made from strong wood from an Ash or Oak tree.
🧙The bushy part of the broomstick must not weigh more than the handle.
Working in pairs P3 began investigating different methods of joining, attaching and tying to build the perfect broomstick.
